Meeting Minutes, December 2006

The meeting was opened at 7.15pm on Monday, 18th December 2006 at Chilworth Infant School.

Present

15.1 Apologies for Absence

None.

15.2 Declaration of Personal and Prejudicial Interest

Cllr Burt declared a personal and prejudicial interest as owner of the Parish Field.

No other Councillor declared a personal or prejudicial interest in any agenda items.

15.3 Budget for 2007/08

After discussion, Cllrs approved a precept of £12,508 representing a 4.78% increase on the previous year. It was noted that there were two extraordinary items in next year's budget, provision of £200 to cover the costs of the May 2007 elections and £1000 to re-roof the Bus Shelter near Chilworth Rail Station.

15.4 Casual Vacancy

In the absence of any other candidate, Mr David Bunting was co-opted onto the Council. The Clerk to write to Mr Bunting to welcome him to the Council.

15.5 Chilworth and Blackheath Voluntary Care Committee

A letter had been received from Chris Channell (Committee Chairperson) requesting a donation towards the cost of a new information booklet to be distributed to every house in the two villages.

RESOLVED to make a donation of £30 (LGA 1972 Section 137 case).

15.6 Report on the SCAPTC AGM – 18th November 2006

Cllr John Peake reported on the meeting.

1. Closure of Hospitals was discussed but because of possible conflicts of local interests no conclusions were reached.
   
   
2. The annual subscriptions for smaller Surrey villages would be reduced in stages to bring the rates into line with those applying in Sussex.

15.7 Date of Next Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled to be held on Monday 8th January 2007 at Chilworth Infant School, commencing at 7.15pm.
