Railway improvement work – Level Crossing and Signalling upgrades between Gomshall and Shalford Junction – from Saturday 18 February 2023 to March 2024
The attached letter from Network Rail sets out the work they will be doing from Saturday 18 February 2023 22:30 to 02:00 Monday 20 February to renew life expired railway signalling assets and upgrade the level crossings at Brook, Burrows Lane, Chilworth and Tangley with modern and safer technology. This will reduce the risk by 97% at each location, building a safer and more resilient railway for passengers and railway neighbours.
While the line is closed, passengers should check before they travel at www.nationalrail.co.uk for details of revised services and replacement buses.
Before they begin the wider project on the North Downs Line in our local area, Network Rail will be hosting two community drop-in sessions for the local community. This will provide an opportunity for the community to ask any questions and their project team to outline the required essential work. Thursday 9 February – 4pm till 6pm at Chilworth Village Hall, New Road, Chilworth, Guildford GU4 8LZ
Thursday 16 February- 4pm till 6pm at Gomshall Village Club, Queen Street, Gomshall, Guildford GU5 9LY
